Give in Faith.

The story of the Widow’s Mite in the Bible emphasizes the significance of sacrificial giving and the truth that even the smallest contributions can make a profound impact.

We’re inviting first-time donors to make a small donation of $2.00 to Romania Reborn and to have their donations matched generously. One of our current donors has initiated this matching challenge! For the initial twenty, first-time donors to Romania Reborn who give $2, this donor will generously match each donation with $25.

You will not only contribute directly to improving the lives of vulnerable children in Romania but also have your donation magnified through the generous matching offer.

Together, through faith the size of a mustard seed and sacrificial giving, we can make a transformative impact and bring hope to those who need it most.

Matching Challenge ends April 15, 2024.

Why the “Widow’s Mite”? Our Donor Explains

My entire adult life, I've lived below the United States poverty level. I spent a year living out of my car, while people at my affluent church told the pastor over and over they weren't at a place in life to share their spare bedroom with me, even in the dead of winter. I rationed my water, and at times went days without food.

My heart longed to help others. But I didn't even have "Starbucks coffee money" I could use to support orphans. Generosity was for the rich, and I was undoubtedly not rich.

A few years ago, Jayme reached out to me asking for help. In her role as president of Romania Reborn, she had become aware of a child in a desperate situation. But Jayme didn't ask me for money. "Money isn't what this girl needs. She needs someone who will pray for her."

I could afford to pray.

And pray I did. I set an alarm on my phone as a reminder, and every day, I prayed for this sweet girl a world away. I prayed God would remind her that she is valued. I prayed God would give her a deep assurance of His love. I prayed God would protect her heart from the pain in her life. I prayed she would find a family to be Jesus to her.

And God did not disappoint. Many times, the struggling among us cannot afford to help. The skeptics among us are unwilling to take the risk. The greedy among us are unwilling to part with their money.

But God doesn't need our money. He needs our hearts.

Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.”
